ROME, MAR 30 (ZENIT.org).- "The Pontiff's trip to Israel and the Holy Land has been extremely important. He has dispelled many prejudices and much false information that circulates on the relations between Jews and Christians," Chief Rabbi Elio Toaff of Rome's Jewish community said, during a meeting with leaders of religions held in the Conference Hall of the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
In the presence of 50 deputies and senators, convoked to participate in the meeting on "The Jubilee," which includes leaders of four confessions (i.e. Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist and Protestant), Rabbi Toaff added: "We must continue in this line. With concrete collaboration - not words - we will reinforce our interior peace and, with it, peace in favor of nations."
