JERUSALEM, MAR 15 (ZENIT.org).- "El Al" airline announced that it will organize some 20 special flights from Italy, Spain and the United States, beginning on March 17, to transport the thousands of pilgrims who are traveling to the Holy Land to see the Pope.
Isaac Reivit, director of "El Al" services, said that the airline has prepared "a great number of duty free products directed especially to pilgrims," such as miniatures in olive wood and "Biblical perfumes." Several tens of thousands of pilgrims are expected to arrive for the Papal visit, many planning their trips to arrive this weekend, 3 days prior to John Paul II's arrival on March 21.
For pilgrims who land at Ben Gurion International Airport, border procedures have been simplified, so that all transactions are concluded as rapidly as possible.
