Kardinal Pells ankesak åpner i juni

«Dommen er fornuftsstridig og kan ikke underbygges», sier kardinalens ankesøknad. 

En australsk domstol kunngjorde onsdag 6. mars at kardinal George Pells (bildet, t.h.) ankesøknad om å få hørt sin sak pånytt, kommer opp 5. og 6. juni 2019.

Pell (77) ble dømt i desember for fem tilfeller av seksuelle overgrep. Sakene stammer fra anklager om at han forgrep seg seksuelt på to ministranter mens han var erkebiskop av Melburne i 1998. Kardinalen har hele tiden hevdet sin uskyld.
